Another magnificent year for this elegant Syrah from The Las Madres Vineyard.
This cool-climate site is located in the rolling hills of the Carneros region, influenced by the daily encroachment of the marine layer drifting in from San Pablo Bay.
The cool marine layer, preserves acidity in the grapes and extends the amount of time they hang on the vine. The lengthy ripening period coupled with 11 months aging in 30% new and 70% used French oak, has developed a smooth, silky Syrah with a balanced acidity and a vibrant palate of smoked meats and savory olive tapenade.
