So you need a wine that promises and soothes rather than attacks and overwhelms. How about the Apsara Kick Ranch Sauvignon Blanc..."
TN: Apsara Cellars Las Madres Syrah, Carneros 2012, October 2014, "Concentrated and savory, this brooding wine is supple in tannins and layered in black olives and leather. It hangs together well, measured acidity dancing on the palate from first sip to last, accessorized by juicy red fruit, anise and toasty tropical oak" 91 points
TN: 2012 Apsara Cellars Syrah, Las Madres Vineyard, Carneros "Reticent, musky aromas of smoked meat and sweet oak. Then silky and seamless in the mouth, and much higher-pitched than the nose suggests, offering expansive flavors of red fruits, mocha and spices. There's a northern Rhone-like richness here that's very sexy." 92 Points
TN: 2012 Apsara Cellars Whole Cluster Syrah, Las Madres Vineyard, Carneros "Good deep red. Reticent aromas of berry skin and cherry. Broad and rich on entry, then much more clenched in the middle, showing a slightly tart character to its sour cherry and mineral flavors." 90+ Points
TN: 2012 Apsara Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, Kenefick Ranch, Napa Valley "Sweet and lush on entry, then pliant and nicely deep in the middle, with sexy Taransaud oak tones complementing the youthfully medicinal dark fruit and licorice flavors. Finishes with substantial but ripe tannins." 91 Points
August 2014, "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is from a vineyard in a noted part of Calistoga – Kenefick Ranch, close to Araujo Estate. The nose is lively with a darker undertone to the bouquet that continues onto the palate. The tannins are there but do not dominate – they are dusty, broad and for a young wine, well integrated into the palate. A delicate kiss of oak also shows towards the finish.
May 2014, "These are delicious wines and representative of the rich but complex wines from Las Madres Vineyard. I’m very interested to see how they develop."
April 2014, "I'll take you up on your offer of a visit on my next trip to Napa. I'd urge my readers to do the same, and seek out (Apsara's) wines when they're looking for a fine, handcrafted wine."
Vinous Media, Feb 2014, "Apsara's 2012 Syrah Las Madres Vineyard is beautifully dense and ripe, but also maintains gorgeous aromatic and savory notes throughout. Deep blue/purple fruit, new leather, smoke and licorice all flesh out in a racy, expressive Syrah loaded with class and potential. " 93 Points

Fresh lime, pineapple, apple and melon on the nose, plus an element of leesy complexity and some more exotic fruit notes.
